Wash your hands.
Clean the injection site with soap and warm water.

Gather: syringe, alcohol wipe, and the glass medication vial.
Confirm the solution is clear.
Before first use: remove the perforated tab from the middle of the vial.

Wipe the rubber stopper with alcohol before every injection.
Clean your skin with an alcohol pad at the injection site

Remove the needle cap, insert the needle into the vial, and draw your prescribed dose.
Turn the vial upside down to make drawing the dose easier.

With the needle pointing up, tap the syringe so bubbles rise. Gently push the plunger to remove air (avoid pushing out medication). Re-check the dose.

Choose an injection site and rotate each time (abdomen, outer thigh, or back of either arm).

Inject the prescribed dose.

Dispose of the syringe in a sharps container (or a thick plastic container like an empty laundry detergent bottle).

Inject any time of day, but on the same day each week.

Stop using and tell your doctor if the injection site becomes red, swollen, or tender.

Dispose syringe in a thick plastic container (e.g., detergent bottle).
Expect erection within ~15 minutes; dose may take a few tries to optimize.
Emergency: erection longer than 4 hours = medical emergency.
